A traffic stop and short foot chase led to the partial lock down of Carver Elementary School today.
School Resource Officer Lt. Terry Sanford said the children were not confined to their rooms, but were not allowed to go outside and the doors of the school were locked.
The suspect was never apprehended, but the partial lock down lasted for about an hour. Officers made sure the suspect was no longer in the area before things were reopened.

After “a long and horrible ordeal,” former Joyner Elementary School teacher Robert Chisholm can get back to his normal life.
A jury in Walton County, Fla., on Wednesday found Chisholm not guilty of child molestation charges filed against him last year.
Chisholm, 31, was accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl while on a personal trip to Destin, Fla. He was placed on administrative leave from his job as physical education teacher at Joyner after his arrest in May. The girl was not attending a Tupelo school.
